Mitsuo Kimura was born in Tokyo Japan and lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Musashino Art University in Tokyo Japan and graduated from OCADU in Toronto  with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drawing and Painting.

Kimura has exhibited in Tokyo in group and solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, World Trade Centre and S-Gallery. He has had solo exhibitions in Toronto at Mark Christopher Gallery, 12 Degrees Project Space, LE Gallery and Will Kucey Gallery. He has participated in group exhibitions including “Reimagining: Narratives of Tension and Wonder” at TIFF Bell Lightbox exhibition space as part of POP Japan and at Birch Contemporary as well at Art Toronto and the Papier 14 art fair in Montreal. Kimura has won several awards for his work and has been purchased for numerous private Canadian and International collections.
