Tyler Matheson
PRAYER

Tyler Matheson (b. Sault Ste. Marie, Canada) is a queer interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto. Matheson is a Ph.D. Candidate at McMaster University. He holds an MFA from the University of Waterloo and BFA from York University. He has participated in residencies at McMaster University and Factory Media Centre (Hamilton), Plug In ICA (Winnipeg), and Artscape Gibraltar Point (Toronto). His work has been published in PUBLIC Journal, Cornelia, Femme Art Review, Public Parking, Off Centre, and Peripheral Review. Matheson is a founding member of the multi-artist collaboration QueerSoftOrange. His work has been exhibited internationally at The Brenda Tuxford Gallery (Eureka, California) and Not Just A Fair (Arnhem, the Netherlands) and nationally at Orchid Contemporary, Small Arms Inspection Building, Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario, The University of Waterloo Art Gallery, Hamilton Artists Inc., Art Gallery Burlington, Art Gallery of Mississauga, Art Mûr, Gallery 44, the plumb, Gallery TPW, and Trinity Square Video.
