Jennie Suddick is a Toronto-based artist, educator, and researcher whose multidisciplinary practice explores the intersections of cultural identity, community knowledge, and place-based learning. Working across media—including installation, participatory projects, and works on paper—her practice frequently bridges formal and nonformal educational settings, inviting collaboration and critical reflection. Through her academic research and international education leadership, Jennie advocates for decolonial approaches to arts pedagogy and cultural exchange, drawing from her Maltese heritage and a deep commitment to sustainability, relationality, and experiential learning.

Her work explores symbols and artistic themes that are repeated and shared across cultures, considering how they develop varying mythologies and interpretations in each context. In dialogue with this, there is also reflection on artificial representations of nature, human-made natural environments, and reclamation. She is also the co- founder of Crazy Dames (crazydames.com), which works to create a dialogue that embraces the role of the artist in interdisciplinary research and practice.

She has exhibited widely across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has held residencies at institutions including Spazju Kreattiv (Malta), Elsewhere Museum (North Carolina), and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (Ontario). Her work has been profiled by CBC Arts, The Globe and Mail, and Toronto Life, and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Council. Jennie is a recipient of the SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship, the Employee Equity Award from OCAD University, and the university’s Non-Tenured Teaching Award. She has presented her research and creative work at global forums including Expo 2025 Osaka, the UN-Habitat World Urban Forum, and the Conference of the Americas on International Education.
