Nic Stevenson works as an Advertising Executive in Toronto. When he isn’t working on global campaigns you’ll find him embracing the slow art of embroidery, which happens to stand in direct contrast to his daily life. Now used as an escape, Nic learned his craft while observing his mother at a young age, who often embraced numerous art forms and encouraged Nic to explore various creative outlets. His work largely attempts to undermine the notion that embroidery is ‘inherently feminine’ or strictly heteronormative and focuses on subjects that are frequently hyper-sexualized and overtly queer.
