Maurice Vellekoop is a Toronto illustrator and comic book artist whose work has appeared in major magazines, advertising, and his own books. Clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, American Vogue, Wallpaper, Abercrombie and Fitch, and The Walrus. Maurice is currently at work on a graphic memoir titled “I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together”, to be published by Pantheon Books in 2016. “Cockadoodle”, Maurice’s first solo show in over fifteen years, opened in Manchester, England as part of Manchester Pride in August of this year. It then traveled to Liverpool as a feature of the annual Homotopia Festival for the month of November. Maurice lives on Toronto Island with his partner, writer and editor Gordon Bowness.
